Auxílio Brasil, the income transfer program that will replace Bolsa Família, will start to be paid from November 17th, but there are still many doubts regarding the new assistance program. We have separated the 16 questions and answers about the new program.
It is worth remembering that among the objectives of Auxílio Brasil is to promote citizenship with guaranteed income and to support, through the benefits offered by the Unified Social Assistance System – SUAS, the articulation of policies aimed at beneficiaries, with a view to overcoming vulnerabilities social groups.

1- What are the benefits of the Auxílio Brasil Program?
The following benefits form the basic core of the new Program:
Early Childhood Benefit: intended for families with children aged between zero and thirty-six months old, paid by a member who is in such a situation;
Family Membership Benefit: intended for families that have, in their composition, pregnant women or people aged between three and twenty-one years old, paid by a member who fits in such situations;
Benefit for Overcoming Extreme Poverty: minimum amount calculated per member and paid by beneficiary family of the Programa Auxílio Brasil, whose monthly per capita family income, calculated after the addition of financial benefits, is equal to or less than the value of the extreme poverty line.
Another five modalities, complementary to the benefit, may be added to the amount received, provided that the beneficiaries meet the additional requirements:
Auxílio Esporte Escolar: will be granted to students aged between 12 years old and 17 years old, members of Auxílio Brasil families, who stand out in official competitions of the Brazilian school games system. It will be paid in twelve monthly installments plus a single installment.
Junior Scientific Initiation Scholarship: will be granted to students from beneficiary families of Brazil Aid that stand out in academic and scientific competitions, nationwide, linked to basic education topics. It will be paid in twelve monthly installments to the student and a single installment to the family.
Rural Productive Inclusion Aid: granted to encourage the production, donation and consumption of healthy foods by family farmers who receive the Brazil Aid.

Urban Productive Inclusion Aid: granted to beneficiaries of the Brazil Aid Program who can prove a formal employment relationship.
Transition Compensatory Benefit: granted to Bolsa Família beneficiary families who have had a reduction in the amount received after qualifying for Auxílio Brasil and maintained until there is a review of eligibility and value.
The Child Citizen Aid supplementary benefit modality will be granted for the child’s full or part-time access to regulated or authorized day care centers that offer early childhood education. The transfer will be made directly to the institution and only citizens covered by Auxílio Brasil will be entitled to the benefit.
2- Who can participate in the Programa Auxílio Brasil?
Families in poverty or extreme poverty can benefit from the Program.
For families in poverty it is necessary that they include pregnant women, nursing mothers (breastfeeding mothers), children, teenagers or young people between 0 and 21 years old.
Extremely poor families are those with a per capita family income from zero to R$100.00. Poor families are those with a per capita family income of between R$ 100.01 and R$ 200.00.
To apply for the Program, the family must be registered in the Federal Government’s Single Registry for Social Programs, with their data updated for less than 2 years, in addition to meeting the program’s income and conditionalities criteria.
If you meet the income requirements and are not registered, look for the person responsible for the Auxílio Brasil program in the city hall of your city to enroll in the Cadastro Único.
Keep your data up to date, informing the city of any change of address, telephone number and changes in the constitution of your family, such as birth, death, marriage, separation and adoption.
3- What is the benefit amount?
The amount of the benefit varies, according to the socioeconomic status of the families informed in the Cadastro Único.
4- How to apply for the Programa Auxílio Brasil?
If your family meets the requirements of the Program, contact the city hall of your municipality to register in the Single Registry of Social Programs of the Federal Government.
For registration, the person responsible for the family must present their identification document and CPF or voter registration card.
It is also necessary to present the identification document of the other family members.
5- Does being registered in the Single Registry guarantee the benefit?
Registration is a prerequisite, but it does not imply the immediate entry of families into the Program, nor the receipt of the benefit.
Monthly, the Ministry of Citizenship selects, in an automated way, the families that will be included to receive the benefit, according to the rules foreseen in the legislation.
6- Who carries out the selection of families in the Auxílio Brasil Program?
Monthly, the Ministry of Citizenship automatically selects the families that will be included to receive the benefit.
The selection of families is carried out considering the data entered by the city halls in the Single Registry of Social Programs of the Federal Government.
7- How do I know if I have been selected to receive Brazil Aid?
The beneficiary families that meet the Brazil Aid rule will have automatic migration without the need to make any kind of registration.
If the family is not yet a beneficiary, when the benefit is granted, CAIXA will send correspondence to the residence informing the selection for the Program, according to the address informed in the Cadastro Único.
It is also possible to check the status of the benefit through the CAIXA Citizen Service on 0800 726 02 07, and the CAIXA Brazil Aid Application and CAIXA Tem Application.
For the Scientific Initiation Scholarship, School Sport Aid, Rural Productive Inclusion Aid, Urban Productive Inclusion Aid and Child Citizen Aid benefits, the Ministry of Citizenship will be responsible for informing the beneficiary about the concession.
8- How can I check if the portion of my benefit is available?
The consultation can be carried out through the Auxílio Brasil Application, the CAIXA Tem Application or by calling the CAIXA Citizen Service on the telephone 0800 726 02 07, option 3 and then 2. Then enter your CPF or NIS.
9- How is Brazil Aid paid?
The payment of Auxílio Brasil is made monthly by CAIXA, according to the payment schedule.
Payment can be made in the following ways:

CAIXA Easy Savings
Withdrawal with the program card
The card is sent to the address informed in the Cadastro Único when the family is included in the Program.
10- How is the payment made to the Digital Social Savings Account?
The Digital Social Savings Account is a simplified savings account automatically opened in the name of those responsible for the family, without the need to request or go to a CAIXA branch.
The account can be accessed through the CAIXA Tem application to make purchases with the virtual debit card, pay slips, water, electricity and telephone bills, make transfers, withdraw without card at ATMs and lottery stores.
Auxílio Brasil beneficiary can also use the Programa Auxílio Brasil card to withdraw from the Social Digital Savings account at ATMs, Correspondent CAIXA Aqui or lottery outlets.
11- How is the payment made in CAIXA Fácil Savings?
Poupança CAIXA Fácil is a simplified account, with a balance limit and monthly movement of R$ 3,000.00. The account has a magnetic card that allows purchases, deposits, balances, transfers and more.
In addition, the CAIXA Fácil Poupança account can be used through CAIXA Internet Banking.
This account cannot be used with the Bolsa Família/Auxílio Brasil card or by CAIXA Tem.
12- How is the withdrawal made with my Auxílio Brasil card?
With the card, it is possible to carry out withdrawals at CAIXA ATMs, at CAIXA Aqui correspondents and at Lottery units.
To make the withdrawal from CAIXA Aqui correspondents and Lottery units, it is necessary to present an identification document and the benefit card.
13- What is the payment schedule for Auxílio Brasil?
Payments will be made in the last 10 business days of each month, the payment date being linked to the end of the beneficiary’s NIS.
14- How do I get information about the Auxílio Brasil card?
To check the status of the card, CAIXA provides the Citizen Service Center. For contact, call 0800 726 0207.
15- How do I register or re-register the benefit card password?
Call the CAIXA Citizen Service on 0800 726 02 07.
Have your Program card, NIS, identity card and CPF in your hands. This information may be requested by the Customer Service Center.
After carrying out the procedures at the 0800 number, go to any Lottery Unit with an identification document to complete the registration/re-registration.
Registration/re-registration can also be done at a CAIXA branch.
16- How many benefits from the Auxílio Brasil program can the family receive?
The family can receive, cumulatively, the 3 basic benefits (Early Childhood, Family Composition and Overcoming Extreme Poverty). Early Childhood and Family Composition benefits are paid up to a limit of 5 benefits per family.
