Plan All Green it will make it possible to zero direct CO2 emissions from Atlantia’s infrastructures by 2040
Turned on the board of Atlantia: the board of directors, chaired by the ambassador Giampiero Massolohe appointed Carlo Bertazzo CEO and general manager of the company, confirming the powers already attributed in relation to the previous mandate, as well as conferring some executive powers to the chairman of the board of directors in matters of communication, institutional relations and corporate security.
The new business plan “All Green”, Which was voted in favor by 98.22% of the board members. This is the first time that the plan of decarbonization. In particular, the Climate Action Plan from Atlantia illustrates the company’s commitment to combat climate change through short, medium and long-term greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and the main actions planned to achieve them, enabling the transition towards low-emission mobility.

The “Postal Code“will make it possible to zero direct CO2 emissions from Atlantia’s infrastructures by 2040, ten years ahead of the commitments of the Paris Climate Agreement. The challenge is so significant that Atlantia is the first company in Italy to have submitted the Plan today to the consultative vote of the shareholders, a procedure defined as “Say on Climate”, becoming the first Italian company to undertake this decision of maximum transparency and responsibility towards the market, illustrating the commitments and actions to enable the energy transition and digital technology of one of the most relevant sectors for decarbonization.
The document has one of the objectives: to reduce the net emissions direct (scope 1 & 2) by 2040, 10 years earlier than required by the Paris Agreement; switch to the consumption of electricity deriving from 100% renewable sources by 2040; reduce by 22% the intensity of indirect emissions (scope 3) deriving from access to airports and the purchase of materials for road maintenance by 2030, corresponding to over 80% of indirect emissions on which we can and ‘possible to act.
Furthermore, the shareholders ‘meeting of Atlantia, with the favorable vote of 99.75% of the share capital represented at the Shareholders’ Meeting, approved the financial statements as at 31 December 2021 closed with a profit of 1,169,471,170. The meeting, with the favorable vote of 98.78% of the share capital, resolved to allocate the profit for the year to distribution of a dividend of € 0.74 per share for a total estimated total of 605,929,980 euros and to the available reserve “Retained earnings” for the residual amount equal to 563,541,190 euros. The euro dividend will be paid, gross of any legal withholdings, starting from 25 May, with the coupon “detachment date” on 23 May and “record date” on 24 May.
Atlantia, who is Giampiero Massolo
Massolotoday appointed president of Atlantia, has been president of the Institute for International Political Studies (Ispi) since January 2017. Since May 2016 he has been president of Fincantieri. Between May 2012 and May 2016, he was Director General of the Information Security Department (Dis) in the Prime Minister’s Office. In September 2007, he took up the post of Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry.
From April 2008 to December 2009 he also carried out the function of Personal Representative (Sherpa) of the Prime Minister for the G8 and for the G20. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he also held – between 1996 and 2007 – the positions of Head of the Press Service, Director General for Political Affairs, Director General for Personnel, Head of Cabinet. He was appointed ambassador in January 2006. From June 1994 to May 1996 he was head of the secretariat of the Prime Minister.
He served in the embassies of Italy to the Holy See and to Fly, as well as the permanent representation at the European Union. He held the course “National interest and national security in a complex world” at the University Sciences Po in Paris. He holds the “National interest, national security and international relations” course at the School of Government of the Luiss University of Rome. He collaborates as a columnist with the newspapers “La Repubblica” and “La Stampa”. He is a Knight of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

Bertazzoconfirmed today at the helm of Atlantiabecame CEO and general manager of the company in January 2020. Since then, he has carried out a profound renewal of the holding, with a radical managerial change that has brought to the company a new team of diversified skills and international experience.
In June 2021 it presented to the market the guidelines of Atlantia’s new strategy, aimed at transforming the company into an operator of integrated and sustainable mobility, aiming at growth in the core sectors (highways, airports and mobility services) and in adjacent areas (Intelligent Transport System, rail and electrification), as well as improving the travel experience and technological modernization of the infrastructures in wallet. In this direction, he promoted Atlantia’s “Say On Climate”, the first to be presented at the shareholders’ meeting in the history of Italian listed companies.
He followed the complex story of Aspi supporting, even as a member of the board, the path of managerial discontinuity and industrial transformation. Finally, he managed all the negotiation phases with the institutions, up to the disposal of the concessionaire’s shareholding.
