At least two people have died in the shipwreck of a boat that washed up off the coast of the Almeria town of Adra. Two people have been rescued alive by a fishing boat and another seven are missingas reported by sources from the 112 Emergency Service Andalusia.
The Civil Guard has alerted the emergency services of the sinking of the boat – in which eleven people were traveling – around 5:30 p.m. this Thursday. Apparently, the migrants left the Moroccan town of Nador on November 26 and on Wednesday afternoon suffered a collisionwhich would have caused the death of two occupants and the disappearance of seven others, those rescued have indicated.
Those rescued have also assured that they saw five of the occupants of the boat.n swimming towards a shorealthough it has not been revealed to which point on the coast they have gone. Both the Civil Guard and Maritime Rescue have searched the surroundings of the site where the rescue took place in order to try to locate the missing people.
The members of the Civil Guard and Maritime Rescue have deployed their air means to locate the missing, without results so far. As night fell, the air resources have withdrawn and will resume the search for the missing this Friday. The two rescued people, about whom no further information has been released, have been transferred to be treated in the port of Almeria.
