From the interviews granted by Hidetaka Miyazaki after the presentation of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree there was also space to talk about Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon and the future of the robot-based action series. In this sense, FromSoftware “has a strong desire” to continue the franchisewith Miyzaki calling the latest game a “success”.
The boss of FromSoftware explained that there is still room for maneuver to further improve with a new game in the series, specifying however that at the moment the studio has not yet decided anything concrete.
“As you can see from the fact that we made Armored Core 6, the series is very important to FromSoftware. We have a strong desire to continue making it in the future,” Miyazaki said.
“I think Armored Core 6 was a success. On the other hand, not everything was perfect and there is still room for improvement, so I don't plan to stop there. However, nothing concrete has been decided yet.”
Armored Core 6 sold better than expected
The “success” of Armored Core 6 cited by Miyazaki is also confirmed in the latest financial report from Kadokawa, the parent company of FromSoftware, which, although not indicating precise data, revealed that it exceeded the company's sales expectations.
In short, we can say with some certainty that fans can rest easy: they probably won't have to wait another 11 years before being able to play a new Armored Core.
