22 days after the assault on the Plenary, the rule comes out initially with 13 votes in favor of PSOE, Cs and IU and 12 of the PP and Vox
The Municipal Plenary of the City Council of Lorca approved this Tuesday with the 13 votes in favor of PSOE, Cs and IU and the 12 against PP and Vox the specific modification of the General Municipal Planning Plan that establishes the new distances of pig farms intensive with respect to the population centers and the basic services of the districts.
It has done so 22 days after a group of ranchers, broken off from the demonstration called by the sector that opposes the modification, stormed the Plenary.
Before twenty media outlets and representatives of ranchers and platforms such as Stop Cebaderos and Salvemos El Consejero, the motion was debated without changes to what was expected, since the PP and Vox had announced their vote against three weeks ago, considering that it harms the interests of ranchers and that it does not respond to the agreements for the conciliation of the livestock and residential use of the land that were unanimously approved in July 2020.
Only the exchange of reproaches between mayors of Vox and IU has tarnished the plenary session after the vote, which has passed without incident and that the mayor, Diego José Mateos, has interpreted as a normalization of the situation in the municipality after three weeks of polemics.
