Next time you’re shopping for a whiskey, why not check the label to see if it has the approval of the British Royal Family?
Some distilleries carry the Warrant Holders seal indicating that the drink has been approved by the British crown. The leading producer of Scotch whiskey, Johnnie Walker, is one that can boast approval on its labels.

Other products may also have the seal
It was King Henry II, who reigned between 1154 and 1189, who came up with the idea of gifting the best suppliers with a seal of approval. Since then, many brands that are consumed by royalty have gained this status on their labels.
Among the hundreds of companies that have the seal, there are car makers, big brands and small bakeries. The only criterion is that the product is used for at least five years by royalty.
