Bloomberg: Apple has begun work on iOS 19 and other operating systems
Apple has begun the process of developing next-generation operating systems. This reports Bloomberg.
According to columnist Mark Gurman, the company has officially launched the process of creating new operating systems. These include iOS 19, watchOS 12, macOS 16, and visionOS 3 — systems for smartphones, smartwatches, computers, and mixed reality headsets.
Gurman noted that the project versions of the OS have already received code names. Thus, iOS 19 was called Luck, macOS 16 appears in the report as Cheer. According to the specialist, work on the new systems has begun despite the fact that the company has not yet presented public versions of iOS 18 and other products.
The reviewer explained that Apple is starting the development process so early to be able to plan the release of new gadgets in 2025. Thus, the corporation should introduce new versions of the iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple may also release an affordable version of the augmented and virtual reality helmet Vision Pro.
Apple unveiled iOS 18 at WWDC 2024 on June 10. The system received a minor redesign, a gaming mode with support for wireless headphones and game controllers, a new Photos app, and AI features.
