The latest opinion poll found that about 6 in 10 Americans believe that former President Donald Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the events of the storming of Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, an increase from the last poll in this regard.
Today, Sunday, the American news website Axios reported that the results of the ABC News poll and the research company Espos represent a slight increase since the beginning of a series of public hearings for the House of Representatives Inquiry into the storming incidents.
The poll, which was conducted on June 17 and 18, said that 58% of those surveyed believed that the former president should be charged with a crime for his role in the riots.
An ABC News/Washington Post poll last April found that 52% of Americans believe Trump should be charged, compared to 54% in a poll conducted by the same two sides in January 2021.
And this month’s poll revealed that the same percentage of Americans, 58%, believe that Trump bears either the greatest part or a reasonable amount of responsibility for the events of January 6.
Also, 60% of Americans believe that the January 6 Commission conducts the investigation in an impartial and impartial manner.
However, only 34% of Americans said they follow the committee’s sessions closely or to some extent.
