The police arrested a total of six people in Woensdrecht and Bergen op Zoom in Brabant on Sunday evening after the theft of a dirt bike. The perpetrators initially fled, but one suspect was caught by bystanders.
The motorcycle was located at a house in Koepelstraat. Police fired a warning shot during one of the arrests. The report of the theft came in to police around 8:55 p.m.
According to a spokeswoman, bystanders in Lekstraat, about a ten-minute walk from Koepelstraat, managed to arrest the suspect. That explains the report of a robbery in that street, which came in a little after the first report, according to the spokeswoman.

Handed over to the police
The suspect was handed over to the police by the bystanders. He was taken to a police cell and interrogated. Later in the evening, officers arrested two other men in Bergen op Zoom. They are suspected of being involved in the theft.
In Woensdrecht, three more suspects were subsequently arrested by the police on Grindweg. Officers also found a dirt bike on the same road. It is not yet clear whether this is the stolen vehicle. The motorcycle has been seized so that the police can investigate.
Possibly shot by suspect
One of the arrested suspects was allegedly shot. Whether this actually happened is under investigation. It is not known whether all the perpetrators have been caught.
