Poland extradited a Ukrainian who illegally crossed the border to Kyiv as a readmission procedure
Warsaw, by way of readmission (the state’s consent to accept its citizens), extradited to Kyiv a Ukrainian who had illegally crossed the border. This was reported by the Western Directorate of the State Border Service of the Republic on Facebook. (social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is banned).
To get to Poland, a 31-year-old resident of the Sumy region swam across the Western Bug. Polish law enforcement officers handed the man over to the border guards of the Volyn detachment, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him, after which a representative of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military registration and enlistment office) handed him a summons.
The service clarified that a 26-year-old native of the Donetsk region was subjected to a similar “double punishment”, who the day before used the same method to cross the border and end up in Poland.
Previously, the West calculated the cost of escaping from Ukraine for a draft dodger; it amounts to thousands of dollars. From the beginning of the special military operation until January 2024, the Ukrainian border service detained more than 17 thousand citizens of the country.
