The police continue to make progress in the investigation of the crimes of the last week in Fuengirola. Two completed homicides – those of Cristóbal (39 years old), last Saturday, and Daniel (51), this Wednesday – and one more attempted homicide – the detainee's girlfriend – that could have the same background: an attack of jealousy.
The hypothesis that jealousy acted as a trigger has been on the investigators' table since they spoke with the girl, who is only 19 years old and who is admitted to a hospital in the province with a dozen stab wounds. She is stable within gravity.
On the street, while waiting for an ambulance, the young woman told the neighbors who helped her that the perpetrator of the stabbing was her boyfriend, a 34-year-old man of Spanish nationality, although of North African origin, who has several criminal records both in the Police National as in Civil Guard.
According to the sources consulted, the girl identified him as the (alleged) perpetrator of two crimes: that of Daniel, who had sublet her a room in the apartment on Valle Inclán Street, and whom she had also just stabbed; and that of Cristóbal, the man beaten to death with a golf club and whose body was found on Saturday in a house in Fuengirola.
Connection of both homicides
The testimony of the young woman, who had just connected the homicides of a black week in the town, surprised the neighbors, but not the police, who already had the now detained person in their sights. The investigators were only waiting for laboratory tests to confirm his suspicions to arrest him for the death of Cristóbal, who was also his friend. A video circulates on social networks where the latter hugs the investigated person and even gives him a kiss on the face.
However, there was nothing to predict the direction that the case would take, taking into account that the suspect had no criminal record of this caliber in his history. The police are trying to delve into the motivations and confirm the motive for the crimes, now that the alleged perpetrator is a little clearer.
