The Brazilian “veteran” Dani Alves, the former right-back of Barcelona, revealed the coaches he was most influenced by, and benefited from working under their leadership, and the technical advice and tactical skills they gave him during his long football career full of championships and titles.
Alves admitted in an interview with the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, that Pep Guardiola, the current coach of Manchester City, is the coach he has most admired and appreciated among all the coaches who worked under their leadership during his long football career.
He said: I was very honored to work under Guardiola’s leadership, and I owe him the credit for many technical and tactical matters that I learned from him.
Alves had worked under the leadership of a number of the best coaches on the world stage, including Unai Emery, Massimiliano Allegri, Scolari, and finally Xavi Hernandez, his former teammate, as a Barcelona player, but he admitted that Guardiola was the best of them all, especially tactically, and the most influential on him.
Alves added: “I have no doubts about my words, and when I was playing under his leadership in Barcelona, I learned every day a new lesson in football, yes he is of that quality, as he can offer something new every day.”
Alves currently plays for the Mexican club Les Pumas, and is coached by Andres Lelini, an unknown technical director, unlike all the previous coaches who succeeded in his training, whether with the clubs he played for, or with his country. Alves had responded to the call of his friend, Xavi Hernandez, coach of “Barca” and his former colleague in the “Catalan” team, and he returned to play under his leadership and performed well and contributed to the improvement of the team’s results, and its progression to second place in the Spanish League “La Liga”, after he was in the position Eleventh, but Xavi dispensed with him this summer, when he no longer needed him, and after he made several successful deals during the last “summer Mercato”, although the club held a great celebration for him in appreciation of his bright history with the “Catalan” team, and his response to the call to return in Critical timing, the team was at its worst.
It is noteworthy that Dani Alves, born on May 6, 1983 (39 years old), played for Bahia, Seville, Barcelona, Juventus and Sao Paulo, and then returned to Barcelona on November 12, 2021, in a free deal until the end of the season. Alves started his career with the national team in 2006, and played 124 international matches with him and scored 8 goals, and he has not officially announced his retirement from international football yet. Alves is the most decorated player in the world with 42 titles.
