Emilia Romagna F1 GP in Imola
The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola it was introduced in 2020 as a response to the pandemic COVID-19which caused changes to the Formula 1 calendar. Originally, the Chinese Grand Prix scheduled for April was canceled and Imola was considered as an alternative.
To avoid duplication of name “Italian Grand Prix”the name was chosen “Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix” in honor of the region. In 2023 the race was cancelled due to the devastating flood that hit Emilia Romagna.
Details of the Imola circuit
The Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome, commonly known as the Imola circuit, extends for approximately 4,909 kilometerswith the Formula 1 race taking place over the distance of 63 laps. It is characterized by challenging corners, altitude changes and long straights, making it a technical challenge for drivers.
Among the most famous curves are the Shearthe PiratellaL’Mineral Watersthe High variantthe Low variant and the Rivazza. The circuit was inaugurated in 1953 and was used for Formula 1 events from 1963 to 2006. He is known for the tragic accident that caused the death of Ayrton Senna in 1994. In addition to Formula 1, Imola has hosted a number of other car and motorcycle events, including the WEC World Endurance Championship.
The absolute record of the Imola circuit is 1’13″609set by Valtteri Bottas on Mercedes in qualifying for the 2020 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, while the fastest time in the race was Lewis Hamiltonwith 1’15″484scored in the 2020 match.

Tickets for the 2024 Imola F1 GP are available online at autodromoimola.it And ticketone.it. They can still be purchased in the stands both for individual days and for the entire weekend from 17 to 19 May. Subscription prices range from 90 to 850 euros based on sector, while those for Sunday’s race range from 75 to 660 euros.
Discounts are available for under 12s. Following thecancellation of the race in 2023the organization of the circuit has foreseen the possibility of reusing them for this 2024 edition.
