The sheep landed in Lampedusa will be quarantined. The animal was on board the sea cart carrying 13 Tunisians (among them two women and three minors) intercepted by the Coast Guard, while it was adrift about 30 kilometers from the island.
The sheep, at the moment, is in the reception center, inside a small enclosure and the managers of the structure have warned the veterinary service of the ASP of Palermo: a doctor will reach the island to visit the animal and release the possible certification and then entrust it.
It is not the first time that some animals have arrived on a boat in Lampedusa: in July 2020, eleven Tunisians, including three women, a poodle dog kept on a leash, were intercepted at sea and transferred to a rubber dinghy.
Also in the same month in the arms of a young Tunisian, a reddish cat of only six months, a refugee among refugees, landed in Lampedusa. Not at all frightened by the sea, he touched down and followed his owner to the shelter where it has also been given a name: Pupi.
