His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the work of the 11th session of the Joint Supreme Committee between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain, while the Bahraini side was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
At the beginning of his speech during the committee meeting, His Highness welcomed Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and the participants in the work of the 11th session of the joint committee between the UAE and the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Highness stressed the depth of the Emirati-Bahraini relations, and their solid historical roots, which were founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his brother Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may God bless them both. The process of joint work and achievement was continued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al. Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect him.
His Highness said: “The UAE has and continues to see its sister Bahrain as a strategic partner and an integral part of the process of progress and prosperity in the Arabian Gulf and the entire region.” His Highness added: “Our bilateral non-oil trade (in goods) has achieved remarkable growth over the past years, reaching a value of about seven billion dollars in 2022, and we are also constantly looking forward to strengthening our bilateral relationship in various fields, including: trade, investment, education, culture, and energy.” Renewable energy, financial technology, tourism, and health, in addition to working together within the integrated industrial partnership that the UAE launched with Bahrain, Jordan, and Egypt last year.”
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the interest in enhancing the levels of bilateral cooperation between the two countries within international institutions, multilateral organizations and initiatives. At the end of his speech, His Highness renewed his thanks to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain and the delegation participating in the committee’s work.
At the conclusion of the committee’s work, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani signed the minutes of the meeting of the 11th session of the joint supreme committee between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
After that, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, witnessed the signing ceremony of five memorandums of understanding between the two countries. His Highness witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Federal Authority for Human Resources and the Civil Service Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, and the Acting Director-General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Laila Obaid Al-Suwaidi.
His Highness witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Minister of State, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Education and the Nasser Center for Vocational Rehabilitation and Training in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani. His Highness also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United Arab Emirates University and the University of Bahrain, which was signed by the Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State and the Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, and the President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Fouad Mohammed Al Ansari. His Highness witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Dubai Future Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
