68 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea
The Krasnodar region was attacked by dozens of Ukrainian drones last night. The main target of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack could have been the oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, where a fire occurred.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that 66 drones were shot down over the region. Regional authorities currently claim that there were no casualties or serious damage to infrastructure.
A minor fire broke out at the plant after the attack.
The first explosions in Kuban on the night of April 27 occurred around 04:00 Moscow time, the first reports about this began to be published around 04:30. According to local residents, in the suburbs of Slavyansk-on-Kuban the sound of an engine was heard in the sky, then a bright glow from the flame became visible. Later it was published video from the alleged explosion site near the oil refinery.
At five o'clock in the morning, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, announced the attack and what was known about 10 drones suppressed by the electronic warfare system. They were destroyed over the Slavyansky, Seversky and Kushchevsky regions of the region.

Head of the Slavyansky district Roman Sinyagovsky clarifiedthat nine drones hit the territory of an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban. The attacks occurred on the tank farm and distillation column. The fire on an area of five square meters was extinguished.
Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory addedthat the separating unit at the oil refinery was damaged.
Later, the Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems intercepted 68 Ukrainian Armed Forces drones overnight. 66 of them were shot down over the territory of the Krasnodar Territory, and two more over the Crimea.
The oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban was already attacked in April
The attempted attack on the oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban was not the first. On the night of March 17, he also attacked drones. The UAV was neutralized, but a fire broke out when one of them fell. More than 80 firefighters were sent to extinguish it. It was reported that one of the company's workers did not survive, but the cause was said to be a heart attack. There were no direct casualties from the attack.
On April 15, a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone attempted an attack on the Krasnodar Territory. It was intercepted by air defense systems. No major damage was reported.
In October 2023, during an attack on the Afipsky oil refinery in Kuban, a drone damaged a facility for processing hydrocarbon gas and gas condensate. After this, a fire broke out, which was extinguished by the plant employees on their own. There were no casualties. Earlier, in May, this plant was attacked, as well as another oil refinery, Ilsky.
Oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban belongs group of companies “Slavyansk ECO”. The total processing capacity is estimated at four million tons per year. The plant produces gasoline, fuel oil, vacuum gas oil and other petroleum products.
