German politician Wagenknecht founded a party against anti-Russian sanctions
Bundestag member Sarah Wagenknecht announced the creation of a new party. She reported this on her Facebook (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; it belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
The political force “Sarah Wagenknecht Union – For Reason and Justice” was created in Berlin, and a founding meeting was held on January 8. Among other things, the party’s plans were announced to fight against arms supplies to Ukraine and for the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions. Also in the party's programmatic statement is the achievement of social justice in Germany and the tightening of migration policy.
In October 2023, Wagenknecht resigned from the German Left Party, followed by nine other members of the Bundestag. She promised that the new political force would fight for social justice and against the uncontrolled reception of migrants. The Bild publication called Wagenknecht's political force a “new pro-Putin party”
