Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Press Club, representative of the General Secretariat of the Arab Press Award, is organizing a special ceremony to honor the winners of the 20th session of the Arab Press Award, on Sunday evening (November 28) in Al Wasl Square at Expo 2020 Dubai, in the presence of the award’s board of directors, elite editors-in-chief of Emirati and Arab newspapers, senior writers, thinkers, symbols of Arab cultural and media work, leaders of media institutions in the region, and representatives of the most important Arab and international channels.
This year, the award ceremony will witness a lyrical epic, illustrated for a poem entitled “Reflections”, from the poems of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the performance of the artist Latifa Al-Tunisi, in addition to presenting prizes to 13 winners from various daily and weekly newspapers, printed and electronic periodicals, and media institutions. whose works found their way to the honors podium among thousands of journalistic works.
Secretary-General of the Arab Press Award, Mona Ghanem Al-Marri, stressed that the unique position that the award has reached through years of hard work and continuous follow-up is the result of the vision of the award’s sponsor, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who He pays great attention to the media and press sectors, and continuously sponsors Arab journalists, so that Dubai has become today the capital of Arab media, and a destination for Arab journalistic energies, opening the doors of the future before it.
She also wished the Arab journalists and the participating press institutions every success, to win an award that succeeded over two decades in confirming its position among the ranks of the most prominent international awards specialized in the media field, based on the successes it has achieved so far, noting that the award is due to the trust it has gained. And appreciation today confirms its position as one of the most important factors that stimulate creativity in the field of Arab journalism.
Al-Marri said that the General Secretariat is continuing its efforts to keep pace with press changes around the world, as well as it is interested in giving a renewed and bright character to the award ceremony outside the traditional templates. Through this poem, His Highness presents a set of poetic overtones that constitute a model of wisdom, knowledge and foresight, and poetic vocabulary whose verses triumph over the values of truth.
