Less and less remains of the effervescent UCAM that started the second round with renewed illusions. Against Sanluqueño, a direct rival that came above in the standings, they went another week without winning. There are already six draws in a row. And it could be worse. On this occasion, they were close to defeat, but a great free kick from Manu Ramírez put the final 1-1 at the last minute. In this way, they leveled the score after Iriondo’s men took the lead in the second half, an almost definitive goal due to local problems to create danger during the game.
Although the university troubles started back. Sanluqueño entered the match much better and was daring. He touched the ball and also created danger with several corners. In one of them, Godoy took the shot very quickly and forced the intervention of an overwhelmed Pau Torres. It was a worrying start for a UCAM in need but who knew how to react. Javi Moreno put the team on time with two good plays, channeling the attack of Jorge Romero’s men, who began to have the ball and feel like protagonists. From there, they also gained confidence.

Sanluqueño no longer played comfortably and UCAM had more control. However, that security in the university game did not translate into much danger in the opposite goal. Yes there was a clear occasion. In a good play between Vicente Romero and Isra Cano, two of the novelties in the eleven, the winger crossed and Pito Camacho, at the far post, finished off the side of the goal defended by Olmedo.
The dynamics of the game was not going to change after the break, with UCAM taking the initiative but without specifying their approaches. José Fran tried it from a free kick, but his shot went a bit high. Sanlúqueño also came forward when Airam Cabrera responded and almost scored in a cross shot that grazed the post. The game entered the last 30 minutes with everything open and with both teams looking for new solutions from the benches.
moro surprises
The Sanluqueño took advantage of the moment and cheered up again looking for his opportunity. And he found her. Iriondo’s men surprised UCAM and Moro, one of those who had entered, appeared at the far post to cross a shot perfectly. The goal refreshed Sanluqueño even more and the game was close to 0-2. Moro and Ballarín starred in another occasion and Godoy also aimed at Pau Torres’s goal, but he finished off wide.
The UCAM was in a delicate situation and took advantage of the second hydration break on a hot morning to catch his breath. All the players and the coaching staff came together for one last effort. Things didn’t get better until the end. Crespí was sent off for double warnings and already close to 90, Manu Ramírez sent a free kick from the front to the squad. A sensational left-footed shot that charged UCAM’s spirits for a long added time that did not give for more. The 1-1 does allow him to continue, for now, in the ‘playoff’.
