The Haro health center was the scene of a multiple hit-and-run on Monday in which a vehicle accessed the ambulance parking lot and ran over the health workers and pedestrians who were working around 10:25 p.m.
As a result of this attack, a 32-year-old man was killed and two other people seriously injured. The deceased is a middle-aged male healthcare worker. In addition, three other people suffered injuries of varying degrees after being run over.
Dozens of residents crowded around the building, where several Civil Guard and Local Police vehicles were also present from the first minutes.
According to witnesses, a vehicle entered at high speed, and the driver of the vehicle, who was carrying two other occupants, was shouting anti-government slogans. It was immediately feared that something serious had happened.
Sources consulted by this newspaper indicated that the driver, a 26-year-old young man, was arrested shortly after the event by the Haro Local Police and remained detained at the scene for a while waiting to be transferred to police stations.
A few minutes after the events, the mayor of the city, Guadalupe Fernández, as well as the councilor and first deputy mayor, Rafael García, attended.
The deployment of security forces was extraordinary, since the Local Police officers in the afternoon had to extend their workday and join the two who were joining, members of the Civil Guard judicial police arrived to join those already present and Sanitary reinforcement had to be requested from other locations to be able to care for the wounded.
