Thierry Boulanger, director of the Sea of Stars game, revealed that the studio is currently working on a DLC for the JRPG, which we remember has just been released. Speaking to Radio Canada, Boulanger said the studio has been split into two groups: one that is working on a new project and the other, smaller one that is working on the DLC for Sea of Stars.
One must remember that the study of Sea of Stars he had already revealed that he would be making DLCs for the game as one of the Kickstarter targets when the title was still crowdfunding in 2020. According to an older update on Sea of Stars’ Kickstarter page, the studio titled the DLC Throes of the Watchmaker and characterized it as a ” complete side-adventure”, with the goal of “delving even further into the world of Sea of Stars and providing further insight into the storytelling that informs all of our games.”
We don’t know if there have been any changes, but for now we can officially confirm that the team will deliver on their promises and develop the DLC. We also have no details on the release date and the price of that content.
Sea of Stars: already a success
Sea of Stars has been quite successful, having sold 100,000 copies on its first day: we also remember that it is available on Game Pass and on PS Plus Extra, a factor that inevitably causes total sales to drop at least a little. It is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
Even at the critical level it was well received, as you can read in our review.
