He Valencia CF announced this Sunday an agreement with FCC Construction so that this construction company end the construction of the New Mestallastalled for more than 15 years and which intends to resume as of Friday, January 10.
That’s it the last working day within the period given by the Valencia City Council to the club when a few months ago it was granted the license to resume work on the facility after the entity had presented a new project.
The council granted the club a period of 30 months to complete the work and is pending the result of an external audit to independently evaluate the cost of the project of Valencia and establish penalties according to that price if the entity fails to comply again.
FCC Construction was already in charge, in a Temporary Joint Venture with the Bertolín Group, of the initial works of the new stadium, until the club decided to stop them in February 2009 not being able to make payments.
Valencia stressed in its statement that FCC Construction has “deep experience in the execution of large sports facilities” among which it cited the new stadiums of Atlético de Madrid and Espanyol and the reform of the Santiago Bernabeu.
The club assured that this agreement represents “the next step” to “make this exciting project a reality and will become an icon of sport, entertainment and modernity in Valencia.”
