The number two of the regional Executive, Susana Camarero, stated this Sunday in her first appearance after the massive demonstration that “no resignation is an option” because they are focused on “reconstruction” and “returning normality to the people.” “Given the damage caused, this government is not going to abandon the victims,” he said to extend the assumption of internal responsibilities.
Asked about the demonstration this Saturday, with more than 130,000 people who demanded the resignation of Carlos Mazón and his Council, Camarero said that they respect the objective of that call, they make “that pain” their own and they regret the riots and acts of vandalism of minority groups at the end of it when it had been peaceful and who only managed to distort the message of the convening entities. “Violence is not an option,” he pointed out, emphasizing the peaceful nature of the call. “I understand the frustration and anger,” commented a Camarero who acts as the president’s shield, asked about the Consell’s scant explanations.
