The Current RottenTomatoes Rating it is obviously temporary, as more votes will arrive over the next few days. At the moment there are still a good number of ratings, namely 33, which allow us to consider the vote a fair indication of the quality of the film.
All the reviews available so far are negative, except onecreated by Grace Randolph and posted on YouTube. The content creator says, “I’ve never played the games, but I was thrilled that Blanchett would star in a movie like this – and that she did a great job! I wish the script had been a little more age-appropriate. Blanchett fans will enjoy this movie, but I’m not sure about everyone else.”
So it’s not exactly a particularly enthusiastic review, and in the YouTube comments, it’s emphasized that the bulk of the video isn’t really dedicated to the review but rather to various types of insights. Randolph also states that if you liked the Uncharted movie, you’ll also like Borderlands. Sony’s movie has a 40% critics’ score, but at least a 90% among fans. It remains to be seen whether there will be a big gap between the two parts with the Gearbox movie as well.
Multiplayer.it also published a review of Borderlands with a final judgment that was anything but positive.
