Rossi’s team will be given a factory bike
Having lost Pramac, the team that from 2025 will be Yamaha’s satellite team with two factory M1 bikes identical to those of the official team on the track, Ducati has decided that it will be the VR46 the new reference structure for the Borgo Panigale company as regards the privileged customer team that will have the possibility of fielding an official bike and not two as has usually happened in recent years with Pramac. In 2025, in fact, the structure directed by Alessio ‘Uccio’ Salucci will have a GP25 that will likely be entrusted to Fabio Di Giannantonio (the official renewal is now just around the corner) and a GP24 (so if Franco Morbidelli actually arrives in VR46 ‘Frankie’ will continue to ride the same bike that he already uses in Pramac). Below are the ritual words of the managers involved in this operation, Alessio Salucci and Luigi Dall’Igna.
Alessio Salucci, Team Director Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team: “I can only be proud to announce that next year the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team will be Ducati’s Factory Supported Team in MotoGP. We will be on the track with an official bike and a GP24. If they had said it a few years ago, I wouldn’t have believed it. It’s a truly significant moment for the entire working group: having achieved this result, with a young team, with so many guys from Moto3, in just three years is something extraordinary. I want to thank all the people who work in the Team, the partners who support us, above all Pertamina Lubricants, Ducati and Gigi Dall’Igna for having believed in this project to the end, for having shared it and for having managed to enhance it today as it deserves. We have some demanding years ahead of us, full of challenges, but we can’t wait to put ourselves to the test to achieve increasingly ambitious results”.
Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse: “Since day one, the VR46 Racing Team has shown that it knows how to work in perfect harmony with Ducati and in recent years we have managed to achieve important results together. We are therefore happy to be able to further strengthen our relationship, providing the Pesaro-based team with full factory support starting next season. I am sure that together we will be able to achieve other significant goals! I would like to thank Valentino, Uccio, Pablo and all the people who work within the team with great passion and dedication once again”.
