Genoa – The 26th Suq Festival – Theater of Dialogue It will take place from 13 to 23 June at the Old Port of Genoa, in Piazza delle Feste, at the Isola delle Chiatte and in the Casa dei Riders. The event, which includes 11 days of program directed by Carla Peirolero and produced by Suq Genova Festival e Teatrohas over 60 events, 100 protagonists, 35 countries represented through the performing arts, literature, craftsmanship, cuisines, with at the center a theater review with 9 titles including 2 national premieres.
The themes are peacewith the national premiere of “Salam/Shalom. Two fathers”, the culture of food with shows and other initiatives, rights and the comparison between diversity (starting with “Princesa” by Vladimir Luxuria), the memory of Rwanda at 30 years after the genocide.
Multidisciplinary and intergenerational, inclusive and participatory festival, “for years it has been at the forefront of environmental culturein this edition the meeting between a representative of the Swiss association Anziane per il clima and Fridays for Future will be emblematic” was explained at the presentation.

The Suq Festival Teatro del Dialogo is an appointment with a consolidated tradition for the Genoese who during the 11 days of the program have the opportunity to get to know 35 countries up close, represented in this 26th edition, which promises to be full of food for thought and of cultural in-depth study”.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture, SUQ Festival has boasted the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security for 11 years, confirmed for this edition as well as the patronage of the UNESCO Italian National Commission. The main supporter is the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation. Multisensory, theater festival and extended scenic space, where “merging with others” is “creating humanity” (cit. Marco Aime), this is the distinctive feature of its artistic quality and of an always innovative and qualified work process, recognized as best practices for dialogue between cultures by the European Commission. Consistent artistic research on the themes of migration and interculture is combined with great popularity confirmed by exceptional attendance: 75,000 in 2023. All events have free admission except theater shows.
