After a long wait, it’s finally here today available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC XDefiantthe free-to-play multiplayer shooter where players take on the role of factions inspired by popular Ubisoft franchises, such as Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs, Far Cry and Ghost Recon.
Therefore, from today it is available preseason of the game, during which players will be able to familiarize themselves with the title through a large amount of content. These include 14 maps inspired by Ubisoft games, 24 weapons, 44 accessories and five devices to use in battle.
Players will be able to take on the role of one of the five factions currently available, namely The Cleaners (inspired by The Division), Libertad (Far Cry 6), Echelon (Splinter Cell), DedSec (Watch Dogs 2) and Phantoms (Ghost Recon Phantoms). Each faction includes three characters, the first available immediately, the others to be unlocked by completing missions.
XDefiant modes
Players will be able to battle it out in two game modes, namely Arena and Linearwhich in turn involve games with different rules.
In the Arena, Domination-type matches will be altered, where teams fight for control of three fixed areas, Occupy, the winner is who gains control of an area that moves around the map, and Hotshot, where the one who causes the most KOs wins, with the first in the rankings who gets speed buffs but is marked on the map of all users. In Linear matches, however, players alternate in attack and defense roles in modes such as Zone Control and Escort, where the attacking players must bring a package to their disposal, while the defenders prevent it.
After the XDefiant preseason, seasonal content will arrive, such as new factions, maps and much more each season. Updates will also be coming with new features, including console-only cross-play.
