Plastic plates recalled from sale. Ministry: ‘Risks related to health’
The Ministry of Health reports the recall by the operator of Rey Natura brand deep and flat plastic plates, Rey Desserts brand dessert plates and Rey Natura T500 dinner plates from the Rey Plastica company (updated 05/17 /2024). The reason indicated on the recall notice “due to risk of migration of materials intended to come into contact with food”
The notice states that the dishes “do not comply with the legal provisions referred to in article 3, letter b of EC regulation 1935/2004”. The law referred to concerns the migration of chemicals into foods. In detail, materials for food use in contact with food under normal conditions of use must not transfer components to foods in such quantities as to cause an unacceptable change in their composition.
According to the warning, there are risks associated with the health of consumers
The affected products are sold in packs of 20 pieces, equal to 300 grams (bottoms and tops), and 25 pieces, equal to 550 grams (dessert). However, no batch numbers are indicated.
The company Rey Plastica SHPK produced the recalled plastic plates in a factory in Durres, Albania (identification mark L71325502Q).
