In his La Mañanera conference this Tuesday, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, confirmed that the attacks held yesterday, Monday, at vicinity of National Palace yes they were perpetrated by normalistas of Ayotzinapa and accused that it is an opposition group that seeks repression on the eve of the elections.
“(They seek) to use all these decisions as a pretext, as an excuse to attack the government that I represent and not only for that, but to carry out provocative actions like those yesterday when a group of students, teachers and those who possibly are not neither teachers nor students to throw bombs here at the Palace and they left“said the president.
AMLO assured that the alleged normalistas from Ayotzinapa, a school located in the state of Guerrero, arrived in Mexico City aboard three trucks from which they threw the explosives and, after that, they left.
“In it eagerness to provoke to see if we repress and then they have elements to accuse us of being repressors, all this on the eve of the elections.”
It is worth remembering that students from the “Raúl Isidro Burgos” Rural Normal School demonstrated to request an audience with AMLO for the release of eight soldiers related to the disappearance of the 43 normalistas from Ayotzinapa. During the demonstration, they threw firecrackers at the National Palace, leaving a total of 26 police officers injured.
From his daily meeting with the press, the president took the opportunity to express your thanks to the 26 uniformed men who, in defense of the presidential headquarters, suffered non-serious injuries.
“I want to thank the police officers, women and men, who were injured, fortunately with minor injuries, not serious ones.”
