Samsung presented the range of TVs for 2024 that will arrive in Italy, in the name of Mini LED and 8K technology.
On the occasion of the Unbox & Discover event, Samsung announced the arrival of the new range of TVs in Italywhich will be available in stores from May 15th, starting from the flagship model, the Neo QLED QN900D presented at CES 2024 which brings a new processor dedicated to artificial intelligence and an ultra-thin design.
There is also no shortage of OLED models updated and equipped with anti-reflection coatings, complete with a new entry level series. Also new on the 4K front and for The Frame series. Here are all the details on new range of Samsung TVs.
Top of the range between 8K and AI
The flagship of the Korean house is represented once again by Neo QLED 8Kalready presented at CES in Las Vegas, and in particular from new QN900D with Mini LED technology and characterized by the Infinity Air Design which brings with it a new pedestal which seems to make the very thin display float in the air, also thanks to the slim one connect external box which integrates all the electronics.
Compared to last year, Samsung states that the local dimming zones have increased by 1.5 times, without however specifying the number. The panel then has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz with VRR support, AMD Freesync Premium Pro and the Motion Xcelerator feature which pushes the refresh rate up to 240 Hz when connected to a compatible PC. The audio sector is supported by the 6.2.2 channel Dolby Atmos system, all integrated on the panel.
The real protagonist of the QN900D, however, is the new one NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor, which integrates 512 neural networks, each of which specializes in improving audio and video. From which arise all the features such as 8K upscaling or the AI Motion Enhancer Pro which makes moving scenes more fluid, as well as all the functions related to energy saving. QN900D series is available in 65, 75 and 85 inch cuts with prices respectively of 5,499 Euros, 7,499 Euros and 9,999 Euros.
Soon after comes the series Neo QLED QN800Dstill with Mini LED 8K technology but accompanied by the processor NQ8 AI Gen2, updated with 256 neural networks, and with a less “aggressive” design than the top of the range. The features that we have come to know over the years such as AI Motion Enhancer, Adaptive Sound Pro and Active Voice Amplifier Pro remain unchanged.
The QN800D series is available in sizes from 65, 75 and 85 inches with prices respectively of 3789.99 Euros, 5,299 Euros and 7,999 Euros.
The OLED range
On the organic panel front, the flagship series is the new S95D with panel QD-OLED from Samsungcharacterized by the new anti-reflection coating capable of “absorbing” external light in a way that can only be appreciated in person but which, trust me, works properly.
The specifications side brings with it the new processor NQ4 AI Gen2 with 20 neural networks with features based on deep learning such as upscaling and Active Voice Amplifier Pro. Also in this case the electronics are relegated to the external box, while the display is 120 Hz with 144 Hz mode once connected to the PC. There is no shortage of VRR, AMD Freesync Premium Pro and 4.2.2 channel Dolby Atmos system.
The available cuts are 55 inches at 2,499 Euros, 65 inches at 3,299 Euros and 77 inches at 4,799 Euros.
Coming then i new OLED S90D and S85D: The S95D series will be available in 48-, 55-, 65-, 75-, and 83-inch sizes, with the 48- and 83-inch sizes using LG panels. The S85D series will instead be completely Samsung-branded in the 55, 65 and 77 inch sizes. However, these models will arrive in a few weeks and at the moment the prices have not yet been disclosed.
The 4K series
The Mini LED also reigns supreme on the 4K front with the top model QN90D, equipped with NQ4 AI Gen2 processor and display up to 144 Hz with four HDMI 2.1 inputs. The features are essentially those of the top of the OLED range, with support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and 4.2.2 channel Dolby Atmos.
The 43 inch starts at 1,299 Euros, up to the 85 inch at 4,999 Euros.
The series follows QN85D with 4K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, 2.2-channel Dolby Atmos and the same NQ4 AI Gen2 processor. Prices in this case range from 1,499 Euros for the 55 inch to 2,199 Euros for the 65 inch.
The Frame and Music Frame
Samsung also renews the range TheFrame dedicated to works of art which, in fact, brings with it the Art Mode which lowers the refresh rate from 120 to 60 Hz when viewing a painting, so as to promote energy saving, available for models 55 inches and above. The 2024 range is then accompanied by Pantone Validated certification and the latest version of TizenOS.
The Frame is available in sizes from 43” at 1,199 Euros and up to 85” at 4498.99 Euros.
On the audio front, the most interesting innovation is represented by the Music Frames, a wireless speaker inspired by The Frame TV range that can be hung like a painting or positioned like a frame. Music Frame features a two-channel system with support for Dolby Atmos and Q-Symphony functionality. The list price is set at 499 Euros. The offer is completed by the Q990D, S800D and S700D soundbars with support for Dolby Atmos and Q-Symphony.
