Sony is reportedly discussing the possibility of carrying out one with Apollo Global Management, an investment firm acquisition Of Paramount: this was reported by some sources deemed reliable by the New York Times.
The film production company, which with the Paramount+ platform has reached 43 million subscribers, also thanks to Halo and Sonic, would represent for Sony an important investmentespecially considering the projects linked to the transpositions of his franchises.
In reality everything could have started from the aforementioned Apollo Global Management, given that the latter had already attempted to carry out the acquisition of Paramount for a sum equal to at least 26 billion dollars.
The joint offer made by Sony and Apollo would not be official for a simple reason, namely the fact that the film production company is currently in negotiations to a merger with Skydancewhich however has not yet met with consensus from investors.
How will it end?
If the proposal put forward by Apollo Global Management alone was not appreciated by Paramount's management, it is clear that Sony's entry into the game could change the scenarioconsidering the name, experience and resources available to the Japanese company.
In the end the offer may not even materializebut otherwise a minority share is assumed for Apollo while Sony would become the majority shareholder of Paramount and would therefore be responsible for managing the company.
