Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth includes a large number of optional activities and mini-games, with Red Queen which is certainly one of the most appreciated by players, so much so that director Naoki Hamaguchi would be interested in “expand further” this card game.
“We haven't decided anything yet in terms of future developments for Red Queen, but so far, the media who have played it have provided positive feedback, so we want to consider further expansions as a possibility,” Hamaguchi said in an interview with RedBull.
Themed DLC or a standalone game?
Based on these statements, it cannot be ruled out that in the not too distant future Square Enix could actually expand Red Queen with gods Dedicated DLCintroducing new rules, cards, challenges and who knows maybe even multiplayer features.
By “expansions” Hamaguchi could perhaps also mean a standalone gameas already seen in the past with the Gwent of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, although this could be an overly optimistic hypothesis.
