At Deportivo Cali, patience was exhausted with forward Luis Fernando 'Chino' Sandoval. The attacker, who arrived in the middle of last year after being released from Junior due to indiscipline, left the club waiting for his renewal.
The Valle del Cauca club was furious, because the player showed no interest in renewing his contract; and on the contrary, press versions claim that he has already signed a pre-agreement with Independiente Medellín, a version that the Paisa club has not confirmed.
However, neither Sandoval nor his agent have shown a willingness to listen to an offer to continue in Cali.and that is why the sugar managers made a drastic decision.
Luis Sandoval will no longer be taken into account for the 2024-I League matches, so he will not play anymore even if he has a valid contract until the month of June.
“In the executive committee we have decided that Mr. Luis Sandoval will no longer be part of the Deportivo Cali roster,” confirmed Harold Losada in a talk with journalist Marino Millán.
Now a rumor is emerging about Peñarol of Uruguay's interest in signing Sandoval, and for that the Uruguayan team would be willing to pay financial compensation to Cali, since it wants the forward for this first semester.

Sandoval played 29 games for Deportivo Cali in all official competitions. He scored 13 goals and contributed three assists. In addition to Cali and Junior, 'Chino' played in B with Barranquilla and Fortaleza and in A with Águilas Doradas.
