The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported this Thursday (15) that they killed a commander of an elite unit of the terrorist group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
According to information from the Times of Israel newspaper, air strikes hit a residential building in the city of Nabatieh on Wednesday night (14).
Ali Muhammad al-Debes, commander of the terrorist group's Radwan Force, his deputy, Hassan Ibrahim Issa, and another member of Hezbollah were killed.
Al-Debes had been responsible for a bomb attack in March 2023 in northern Israel, which left a man seriously injured, and for other attacks in clashes in the Israeli-Lebanese border region since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, in October.
Hezbollah has been promoting attacks in northern Israel in “solidarity” with Hamas, an Israeli target in Gaza due to the terrorist attacks it carried out last year, which left 1,200 people dead.
Lebanese authorities reported that seven civilians from the same family also died in the Israeli attack on Nabatieh.
This Thursday, Prime Minister Najib Mikati ordered the presentation of an urgent complaint against Israel to the UN Security Council, due to what he considered “excesses” of Israeli actions in the border region between the two countries.
