Sedan ran into a pedestrian in Joensuu on Sunday, Eastern Finland police informs. The pedestrian was transported from the scene by ambulance to the central hospital for hospital treatment.
The police received an alert about the situation at Ahvenisentie in Joensuu at around 7:30 in the evening.
The accident happened when the driver of a car approached from the direction of Eno towards Åland. The driver said that he was dazzled by the lights of the oncoming traffic and that's why he didn't notice the pedestrian and ran into him. The evening was dark and it was snowing.
Mixed the driver of the car that hit and the car that was driving in the opposite direction immediately went to help the injured pedestrian.
The police are investigating the incident as endangering traffic safety. There is a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour at the venue.
