Dedicated to those who love adventure and don't mind putting their foot down on the accelerator. For the launch of the new Mini Countryman S ALL4 in John Copper Works trim, the landscape of Iceland was chosen, complete with double-digit temperatures below zero. “The Countryman S ALL4 convinces with its driving fun on any terrain,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of Mini. “Our customers benefit from the variability of a crossover with a robust off-road character. It is agile and lively, but also safe and comfortable over long distances.”
In winter, in Iceland, the rough, snowy terrain and icy climbs put the driving qualities of the car to the test, ranging from the ALL4 four-wheel drive system to the rapid and precise electronic control system, capable of distributing the driving power between the front and rear wheels as needed. The chassis can be adjusted differently depending on the surface and environment, and it is certain that a well-balanced and comfortably adjusted suspension is ideal for exploring the Icelandic crater landscape.
Motor
The powerful 2.0-litre Twinpower engine (with two turbines one behind the other to eliminate turbolag) convinces on the long straight roads of Iceland thanks to its smooth ride, power increased to 160 kW/218 hp and maximum torque of 360 Nm. Furthermore, a 48V mild hybrid engine supports performance (combined fuel consumption: 7.4 – 6.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 169 – 155 g/km according to WLTP) in the range of low speeds thanks to a temporary boost of 14 kW.
Inside and outside …
But the eye also wants its part. The John Cooper Works Trim gives the Countryman S ALL4 an individual sporty look with distinctive diffusers front and rear. The bright Chili Red color, the distinctive contrasting roof and the side mirrors in high-gloss Jet Black provide a powerful appearance, while the LED headlights with the JCW signature appear only as two horizontal stripes as daytime running lights and accentuate the language minimalist formal. The Mini Countryman S ALL4 offers five passengers comfortable space on all seats. The backrest of the three rear seats is individually adjustable in six positions, all in the brightness provided by the panoramic glass roof. Suitcases can be easily stored in the 450-litre boot, which becomes 1000 liters more by folding down the rear seat backrest.
