The success of the Netflix series “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” has drawn the attention of psychology experts. Dr. Cesár Manrique Tapia explained that the great reception that this true crime cinematographic installment has had is due to an apparent fascination of human beings for living in fear.
“In general, events involving death or violence attract the attention of human beings in a very particular way. In fact, this is the explanation why a person stares when he is at the scene of an accident or when he watches a video with strong images on his cell phone. It is the morbidity of constantly testing the limit of tolerance for violence,” said Tapia, a psychologist at the César Vallejo University.
