After years of waiting and multiple delays, Digimon Survive finally hit the video game market late last week. However, the first impressions of the public were anything but positive. Hours after its official release, Metacritic began to fill up with hundreds of negative reviews accusing the game of “false marketing.”
Although at the moment the ratings on Metacritic for Digimon Survive in switch, PS4, Xbox One Y pc are in a range between 60 and 80 points, first impressions made it clear that fans were not happy. At the time we saw red numbers, with scores of 1/10.
Taking a look at the fan reviews, you can see that certain public is not happy with the fact that Digimon Survive It’s a visual novel rather than a strategy RPG.. Let’s remember that when the game was revealed in 2018, the developers pointed out that this installment would combine several styles of games. However, in recent years this message has changed to clarify the direction of the title.
Even a couple of months ago, during Digimon Con, the producer of this game made it clear that Digimon Survive it would be 70% a graphic novel and 30% a strategy RPG. No problem if the game is not to your liking. However, accusing the developers of false advertising, when the message of the last few months has been quite clear, is misplaced.
Digimon Survive is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. In related topics, here you can see the latest trailer for the game. Similarly, it is revealed why the title was delayed so many times.
Editor’s note:
At the end of the day, it’s good to see fan ratings finally heading down a path that makes more sense. However, the fact that there aren’t many major media reviews is a dim sign.
