Tickets for the 16 shows of the last quarter can now be purchased online
Theatrical, musical, opera and concert performances make up the program for the last quarter of the year at the Teatro Guerra de Lorca, which was announced this Thursday by the Councilor for Culture, Ángeles Mazuecos, and which is made up of 16 shows, almost half of them dedicated to Children public.
The season at the Lorca Coliseum will be opened on October 6 by Yllana Teatro with its show ‘Maestríssimo (Pagagnini 2)’. On the 11th Ópera 2001 will stage ‘La Boheme’ by Giacomo Puccini with the collaboration of the Sicilian Artistic Choir.
On October 22 it will be the turn of the rock band Morgan who will start their national tour in Lorca with the presentation of their album The river and the stone.
The veteran actor Eusebio Poncela will step on the stage of the Guerra together with the dancer Igor Yebra on the 28th for the performance of ‘The kiss of the spider woman’ and on the 10th of November it will be the turn of ‘Bernarda Alba, the musical’, a version of the company August 36 of the classic ‘La casa de Bernarda Alba’ by Federico García Lorca.
Artists from the region will have a special role in the program since on November 18 the Murcian company Alquibla Teatro will stage its latest production ‘Mi cuerpo se camino’ and on November 25, coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the actors of the Teatro Guerra company will perform ‘Penumbra’, a version by Fran Jiménez of the play ‘Luz de gas’ that addresses the issue of abuse. The next day, the magician from Lorca Pedro Lucas will offer his show ‘Abradabrante, pata deélefante’.
The program will conclude with children’s theater. On November 29, the Periferia company will stage the puppet show ‘Guyi, Guyi, another ugly duckling’, on December 1 La murga will perform the musical ‘La ratita presumida’ and on 15 the Drilo gang will present ‘Drilo & the kids band’. To complete the children’s program has also been scheduled theater for schoolchildren from Lorca schools.
Mazuecos stressed that the “best national shows” and some international ones that are on tour for the Guerra program have been selected and also highlighted his department’s commitment to Murcian artists. “It is our obligation to support them,” he said.
Tickets are on sale online and can be purchased at the box office from September. The capacity of the Lorca Coliseum will be 100% and there will be no subscriptions. The mayor explained that they were suppressed in the pandemic because it could not be guaranteed that all the announced performances would be carried out and this ticket sales policy will be maintained because public attendance at the coliseum “works very well without subscriptions.”
