The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation stated that the UAE is constantly evaluating all aspects of work in various sectors, starting with the recruitment and employment of workers, up to the provision of appropriate housing, in order to guarantee the rights of all expatriate workers, treat them with respect and equality, and enable them to report labor disputes and incidents of abuse with all Ease and reliability.
In an indicative leaflet broadcast on its official website and pages on social media, the ministry directed 7 tips for expatriate workers residing in the country that would protect their rights and inform them of their duties, including “obligatory signing of the work contract upon arrival in the state, not allowing any employer to charge the worker fees.” And the cost of recruitment and employment, or collecting it from the worker, whether directly or indirectly, the worker retaining a copy of his work offer that he signed, the need to ensure that the terms and conditions of the work contract match the job offer that the worker signed in his country, contact the ministry immediately in case The employer did not provide the agreed work opportunity or if he did not receive his full wages on time, in addition, the worker has the right to leave his work at any time (but he must be aware of his legal obligations), and finally, the worker must keep his identification documents in a safe place.”
The ministry explained that it provides workers with several channels to report and submit wage-related complaints, whether by calling the toll-free phone: 600590000, or through the ministry’s website, or through smart application services, or by attending the ministry’s offices spread across all emirates of the country.
She stressed that labor cases are exempted from judicial fees in all stages of litigation and execution, and requests made by workers or their heirs, whose value does not exceed one hundred thousand dirhams.
