The five-year-old boy Rayan was rescued dead from the bottom of a 32-meter-deep well, where he remained for five days, according to a statement issued this Saturday by the Royal House of Morocco.
The official note was distributed by the country’s official news agency “MAP”, immediately after the conclusion of the child’s rescue operation, with the withdrawal from a tunnel parallel to the well.
King Mohamed VI spoke by phone with Rayan’s parents to express condolences for the loss of their son. The Royal Household statement indicated that the monarch had been closely following the “tragic incident”.
In addition, the text indicates that the head of state gave instructions to all competent authorities to take the necessary measures to save the boy’s life.
Mohamed VI expressed his condolences to the child’s family for what he called a “painful accident” and assured that every effort had been made to save Rayan.
The statement expressed the king’s gratitude to the authorities and public forces, as well as civil society, for the “strong and broad” solidarity expressed to the boy’s relatives.
