The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai has identified four reasons and exceptional circumstances that authorize students in private schools in the emirate to continue their studies in the “distance education” system, after adopting the mandatory return to “realistic” study in all private schools in Dubai, starting from the third of the month. The authority stated on its website that the student has the right to continue his studies with the “virtual education” system if he suffers from chronic diseases or health problems that make him more vulnerable to risks, and in this case, the student must submit an official medical report certified by the Dubai Health Authority explaining the reason for his inability On going to school.
The student is also allowed to continue his studies remotely if he lives with a person who suffers from health problems that make him more vulnerable and prevent him from taking the vaccine. In the event that he is outside the country and cannot return due to the international restrictions imposed on travel resulting from “Covid 19”, in this case, the student must submit a document issued by the concerned government authority.
The student continues to “online education” if he is confirmed to be infected with “Covid 19” or is in close contact with a person who has been confirmed to be infected with the “Covid 19” virus, and in this case, the student must submit a report issued by the Dubai Health Authority.
The authority pointed out that the school administration can accept exception requests to continue “distance education” or reject them based on the conditions for each case, without referring to the authority to obtain its approval, but the school must keep a record of the names of students who enroll in the “distance learning” system. To be submitted to the Authority when needed, the documents supporting the school’s decision must also be kept and submitted to the Compliance Team at the Authority upon request.
The authority added that classes and school stages can move to the “distance learning” system temporarily, in the event that confirmed cases of “Covid 19” virus appear, according to the decision of the supervisory committee, stressing the need for schools to take appropriate measures to ensure that a safe distance is maintained between students. and school staff as much as possible, and it is best to keep a safety distance of one meter between every two people, while continuing to wear masks obligatory for students aged six years and over, for school staff, and for everyone who visits the school.
The authority mentioned a number of group activities that schools can resume again, including the morning assembly, performances, rehearsals, and events, in line with the directives of the Dubai Health Authority and the Dubai Sports Council, noting that schools can hold events in external places, with the need to adhere to health procedures. And safety approved in these places.
