Container ship Mumbai Maersk has run aground in the North Sea in Germany, Reuters reports. The accident occurred approximately 15 miles off the German coast, off the island of Wangerooge late Wednesday night.

The Danish ship was on its way from Rotterdam in the Netherlands to the port of Bremerhaven in Germany. The ship is about 400 meters long and 60 meters wide. It was built in 2018.

According to Reuters, attempts have been made to get the ship off the shore into deeper waters on Thursday morning, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
