As Halloween approaches, the horror theme always gains particular attention from the public, especially in the field of video games. We recently proposed an article dedicated to videogame Easter Eggs that you can only find on October 31st, but the witches’ night is long, and it is an excellent opportunity to get some healthy scare in the company of friends. However, this special ranking is dedicated to all the faint of heart who nevertheless want to enjoy a themed evening. We therefore offer you 10 video games that are not scary, but that will make you tune into the holiday.
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Now a Halloween classic for all gamers Nintendo. We told you about the game in our dedicated review, and since we know that it is a really well done game, we could not exclude him from this ranking, also given the possibility of playing it in the company of friends.
Resident Evil 6
We are sure that this choice will cause discussion, but trust me Resident Evil 6 for the majority of fans of the brand it is the least horror chapter of the saga. However the title is funny and will allow you to kill zombies without too many pretensions, the right compromise for a quiet evening.
Grabbed by the Ghoulies
Grabbed by the Ghoulies is an old Xbox exclusive from 2003 which you can find in the Rare Replay, or a collection of 30 games dedicated to the works of the software house of the same name. The title is probably one of the best productions of the team, it is worth giving it a chance even if, by now, for many it may be a bit old.
Back 4 Blood
Also in this case, our more in-depth opinion on the work can be found in the dedicated review that you can read by clicking here. The title developed by Turtle Rock Studios it is certainly captivating from the point of view of the concept, and at first glance it could also scare you, but we assure you that it is not, since the production focuses strongly on the action, with avalanches of walking corpses to be definitively sent to the other world by pouring them against endless amounts of bullets, and if played with friends it is one of the most fun games to enjoy on Halloween.
MediEvil
If you want to know our rating on the Medievil remake, by now you will have understood that you can take a look at our review. The game starring Sir Daniel Fortesque it is certainly one of the best horror video games with which to dive into the Halloween atmosphere without getting scared, especially given the comic vein of the title.
Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins Resurrection
Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins it’s a classic that has never really faded, and for this very reason we strongly advise you to give it a chance Resurrection, even if for those not accustomed to the genre it could be a bit difficult in the early stages. To find out more, we recommend that you take a look at our review.
FEAR 3
As some of you may remember, FEAR was originally born as a really important horror saga in the gaming landscape, however the third chapter turns out to be the least successful from this point of view. Although the atmospheres are still well done, FEAR 3 lost that touch that characterized the previous IP episodes, moving towards a more distinctly shooter formula. For him the same goes for Resident Evil 6, play it without too many pretensions.
BioShock
No introduction is needed for such a title. We know that for many it could be a full-fledged horror, but from our point of view it is a pretty borderline game. However, we believe that if you play it in the company of some friends to give you a hand you will overcome it without problems, even if already a pinch of courage could be enough to face alone. one of the best games ever released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Metroid Dread
Just released and already on everyone’s lips, the exclusive Nintendo Switch has shown that it really knows how to do it. While characterized by its Metroidvania nature, the adventure manages to offer a healthy dose of anxiety – without ever leading to pure horror – thanks to some particular almost invincible enemies that will hunt you for the entire duration of the adventure. A nice nostalgic dip in modern sauce of which you can find more information in our review.
Metro Exodus
Metro Exodus it has proved to be a really great little gem, finding the appreciation of many players. The real strength of the title is summed up in an immersive world capable of fully capturing the user, with really well characterized atmospheres and locations. If you are curious to know ours on the title, we advise you to read our dedicated review.
