Fawzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, announced, on Sunday, the return of Ziyech and Mazraoui, to the squad of the Moroccan national team, in addition to summoning Abdel Samad Zalzouli, the Spanish player of Barcelona.
Lekjaa said, in an interview with MFM radio, that the aforementioned players were invited to attend the next two matches against the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in drawing the qualifying round for the World Cup, on March 25 and 29, 2022.
“The initial invitation was sent to each of Hakim Ziyech, Nasir Mazrawi and Abdel-Samad Al-Zalzouli, and the decision will be next Thursday to announce the final list,” Lekjaa explained.
He added, “All we seek is for Ziyech, Mazraoui, Zalzoli and other names to be 100 percent ready for the DR Congo match.”
He continued, “There is a lengthy conversation between Ziyech and the coach of the national team, Wahid Halilhodzic, to end the dispute once and for all, and God willing, matters will be officially resolved in the next few hours.”
