Inditex has launched Zara ‘Pre-Owned’, the brand’s second-hand, clothing repair and donation platform, in the United States, the first market outside of Europe where it lands with this initiative, according to Europa Press. This is how it arrives with its Zara circularity services platform in the North American market, which joins the 16 European ones where it already offers repair, donation and sales between individuals: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Finland, France Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
In all of them, andThis section of Zara.com and its mobile application incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) functionality that seeks to simplify the process of selling Zara clothing between individualsby helping to complete the product sheets (name, general description and original photographs), based on the recognition of the images of items uploaded by customers to the platform (customers interested in extending the useful life of their Zara garments have to manually add the size and condition they are in).
Developed by the brand’s teams “for a safe environment and with an interface that breathes fashion, contributes to guaranteeing Zara’s image and quality standards“, as explained by the same sources.
With Zara ‘Pre-Owned’, Zara customers will have access to circularity services such as repair, customer-to-customer sales of Zara clothes from their closets and donation, through Zara.com, its mobile application and Zara stores.
You can change buttons and zippers
Thus, users will have services available such as the repair of used Zara garments of any season, with options ranging from replacing buttons and zippers to repairing seams.
The customer can complete the procedure entirely ‘online’ or in the Zara store of their choice and the repair is done through local suppliers.
Likewise, Zara ‘Pre-Owned’ also offers its customers the opportunity to sell their Zara clothes from any collection in a secure environment.
Zara ‘Pre-Owned’ is aligned with Inditex’s strategy on circularity, which encompasses all phases of its business model: from design and production processes to the management of its stores, logistics centers and offices. The objective is to achieve a circular business model through which the life of garments is extended and waste is converted into new resources.
