XDefiant has only opened its doors a few days ago and since it is a multiplayer game it is natural that there are some netcode related issues or some not particularly successful aspects that Ubisoft developers will be working on in the coming days and weeks.
Mark Rubin, the executive producer of XDefiant on This includes netcode issues and the recording of shotsin addition to the endless fight against cheaters.
- Netcode and shot recording. Many people talk about it and we listen to them. We are working on improvements. There are more than 1,000 things that can affect netcode, and we need to investigate and fix every single problem. So it will take some time, but we will see improvements.
- There are numerous other topics that have been raised that we are listening to. We use software that searches social media, Reddit, Discord, etc. to find topics and provides us with a big list. We’re tackling that list as quickly as we can.
- THE Cheaters are banned and will not be tolerated. But as I’ve said many times, it’s a constant battle. These people hate video games and they hate you as gamers. And yes, I’m angry about it!
There are also other irons on the fire
Outside of this bulleted list, responding to comments about X, Rubin also revealed the XDefiant team is working on a ping system (which allows players to communicate without using a microphone or text chat to report enemies, objects, objectives, etc.) and to fix bugs related to camera shake. In short, it is likely that the list of things to do is very long for the developers and therefore all the improvements requested by the community will gradually arrive.
We remind you that XDefiant has recently been available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It is a free-to-play shooter in which players take on the role of factions inspired by Ubisoft’s most successful games, such as Far Cry, Rainbow Six and Watch Dogs. Here are the details on the contents of the preseason content.
