Xbox: four first party games on other platforms, no Starfield and Indiana Jones

During Phil Spencer's highly anticipated speech on the future of Xboxthe head of Microsoft's gaming division announced that four first party titles are about to arrive on other platforms, we assume PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Two confirmations

So Spencer confirmed the expansion of Xbox's multiplatform approach, justified in order to keep the ecosystem healthy, and at the same time confirmed the philosophy of “case by case” meaning that games to port to other platforms will be evaluated from time to time: “we think this is an interesting time for us to use what some of the other platforms have right now to help grow our franchises.”

How were the four titles chosen? According to Spencer, they were selected based on their ability to reach as many audiences as possible. Furthermore, he confirmed the current trend, namely that in the future there will be fewer and fewer exclusive games for all platforms, to counter the current market crisis and keep the various ecosystems healthy, including the Xbox one.

Spencer did not name the selected games, but gave some coordinates: they have been on Xbox and PC for more than a year, two of the four are focused on communities, which by finding new players can be revitalized and Microsoft can continue to invest in them . The other two were described as “smaller”: “because they have realized their full potential on Xbox and PC we see an opportunity to use the other platforms as a place to get more business value from those games, allowing us to invest in perhaps future iterations of those sequels to those or just other similar games in our portfolio.”
