X-Men 97: The Mutant Ideology Divide.
In the first part of the final arc of X-Men 97 which is called Tolerance Equals Extinction, we saw how Magneto freed himself from being trapped in the clutches of Bastion and also Sinister. What happens next is that the master of magnetism went to the North Pole to change the magnetic pole of the earth and turn off all the sentinels that were killing mutants.
Now, what happens in the second part of Tolerance Equals Extinction is that the old team of the X Men is coming together to face the threat of Magneto, they even dust off the old suits they wore many years ago. The master of magnetism confronts Professor Xavier and blames him for leaving him his legacy, which he never accepted.
There, both Rogue and Roberto decide to go with him, since they do not agree with Charles Xavier’s way of thinking. This is when things are going to get complicated for everyone, as a fight is coming against colleagues who were previously allies in battles.
Two teams are divided, first to try to stop Bastion and Sinister’s threat to continue controlling sentinels and the other team is the one that will stand up to Magneto. Up to this point, everything is going smoothly within X-Men 97since it seems like a plan that the mutants will be able to carry out, but the threat is stronger than they believe.
X-Men 97 shows us how Wolverine runs out of adamantium
One of the most iconic moments in the X-Men comics occurs in episode 9 of X-Men 97 when the mutants led by Xavier confront Magneto, while a group led by Jean Gray and Storm fight against Bastion and Sinister.
In order to defeat Magneto, it is necessary to remove his helmet, because that way, Xavier can attack his mind. When they achieve it and everything seems to be under control, Cyclops stops Professor X, as the other team needs more time to stop Bastion. In other words, one plan cannot be executed without the other.
Just when the situation seems to be on Magneto’s side, Wolverine charges at him from behind and sinks his adamantium claws into him, leaving Erik further injured. The point is that this unleashes the fury of the master of magnetism and ends up taking the adamantium from Logan, replicating the scene we saw in the comics.
Even Professor X asks his “friend” not to do it, but he does not listen and the situation ends badly for Wolverine. From here ends episode 9 of the series that is broadcast on Disney Plus and we only have one more left. How do you think the series will end?
