The largest mixed martial arts league in Spain, WOW FC, landed for the first time this Saturday with success in Barcelona, hanging the ‘no tickets’ sign several days before the event arrived and achieving a full house in the emblematic Palau d’Esports Vall d’Hebron. With more than 2,500 fans vibrating in each fight, the evening established itself as one of the most exciting of the season, based on what was experienced in Barcelona.
The event was made up of 14 high-intensity fights, with local, national and international athletes showing all their talent and determination. From the first to the last confrontation, the energy in the Palau was palpable, making the evening an unforgettable event. Among the most notable highlights was the stellar fight, in which the AFC Villalba fighter, Theo Bashford, Hecher Sosa’s teammate, defeated Guezzar by unanimous decision on points in a confrontation with a lot of wear and tear and a lot of ground.
In the co-main event, Oriol ‘Respeto’ Arenas, champion of Catalonia and Champion of Spain, defeated Antonino Amodeo by guillotine in the first round, who was traveling from Milan with two wins and zero losses. A fight full of emotion, with the presence of his followers from Sant Vincenç dels Horts to whom Oriol dedicated his victory among moving words. A key victory making it clear that he is one of the fighters to follow on the MMA scene (Kiofu Team).
The only female fight, between Dea Celma and Mariangela ‘Anubis’ Vivas, was one of the high points of the night; Celma imposed an aggressive pace and a lot of technique, managing to finish her opponent by technical KO in the second round. Dea showed a display of skill and strategy that impressed the Barcelona public. For his part, the master Richard ‘La Pantera’ Jacome won by submission in the first round in his professional debut.
